We have brought together in one section the various forms of counselling and psychotherapy. We recognise that it can be confusing for the lay person to know which approach might be best for them, as there are wide variations in methods, training requirements, and expected length and frequency of work. We therefore suggest that you ask any questions you might have when contacting an individual therapist so that you can find the best ‘fit’ for you. All psychological therapies have a broad aim to help the person in self-reflection, so that shifts towards a more fulfilling and meaningful life might be embraced.
