Reflex Zone therapy
A form of treatment by means of pressure points on the feet was known in India and China 5,000 years ago. Zone Therapy was founded by Dr W. Fitzgerald in 1895 and expanded by Eunice Ingham, an American masseuse. Since 1967 and the forming of the British School for Reflex Zone Therapy, every new development has been thoroughly tested by fully qualified medical and therapeutic professionals.
The practice of Reflex Zone Therapy to the feet is derived from two basic concepts:
1. The division of the body into ten vertical zones
2. The corresponding ten zone grids of the feet, in which are dovetailed the reflex zones.
The therapy involves the application of gentle pressure to the feet and hands which may prevent illnesses from developing and relieve symptoms without masking any serious underlying problems.
