Psychological Therapies: Clinical Psychology

Psychology is the scientific study of the human mind and behaviour. Clinical psychologists have an academic and practical training, generally to doctoral level. The term ‘psychologist’ is a ‘protected title’: in order to present oneself to the public as a practitioner psychologist, one must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) which ensures that the practitioner has met the training requirements and maintains proper ethical standards.
