Pregnancy Yoga adapts the classic practices to suit the pregnant body making sure they are safe.
Benefits are twofold: by working on strength to withstand the growing pressures of pregnancy and to prepare the body for birth, and therapeutic, relieving pregnancy symptoms such as heart burn, altered posture, swelling, tiredness.
Emphasis is on creating a calm strength, physically and mentally. Much of the calm created comes from the large focus paid to the breath which gives the expectant mother tools to respond positively to the challenges of pregnancy, birthing and mothering.
The overall practice aims to prepare for birth, to enjoy pregnancy and connect with baby and reduce postnatal recovery time.
